She stays away from her mother whom she misses very much. But she is grateful for the love and motivation she receives from her music teacher Ms. Jayshree Sakalle. The latter is not just someone who teaches her musical notes. She inspires Monika to be creative, for in creativity lies the essence of life. And Monika is forever indebted to her mentor for giving her this invaluable lesson.
She has also taken six months training in light music by Ustad Anver Hussain from Bhopal. She told us more about her likes which we would like to share with all her fans out there.
Her favorite singers from the golden years are Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar. Amongst contemporaries, Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit are held in high esteem by her.
She is an ardent lover of Jagjit Singh.
Tujhse Narraz Nahi Zindagi from Masoom and Na Na Karte Pyar from Dhadkan are two songs very close to her heart.
If given a chance, she would like to sing for Shraddha Kapoor and and Alia Bhatt for two reasons - one, that they are both connected to music in some way, and two, because she feels her voice will do justice to the charisma they diffuse on the screen.
Guitar is her best friend. She feels an innate connection with the instrument.
She has written her own poem Kahaani, taking inspiration from Dr. Kumar Vishwas.
She feels flattered as well as humbled by all the praise that she is getting for her music videos. She praised Team Funkaar for taking the efforts to provide a platform for budding singers.
